One phrase has kept me grounded during so many times when I am ready to pull my hair out… that there is “always, always, always something to be thankful for“. It’s literally on the wall of my house.
And I truly am thankful for my family and all that the good Lord has bestowed upon me.
But it’s not enough just to be thankful. We are called as Christians (or just good neighbors if you prefer) to help others, to give back to our communities and families and friends. Too often that is left behind in our “me! me! me!” society. I, myself don’t heed that call nearly enough. I’m too caught up in the daily rat race of my own life, which is understandable, but not okay.
I’ve been thinking on this and praying on this for a while now. How so many people feel bad about themselves, are living very unhealthy lifestyles, and see no way out of their own economic situation. How someone making great money can still feel trapped month to month, much less someone without a great job. How I don’t want to live like that or my kids to live like that.
So I’m starting a journey to better living and want to share that with others, so they can do the same. If I am successful, I want to remind myself to not only be thankful, but to give back and help others be successful too.
